Mosquito spraying set for Tuesday in Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE — Crews from Clarke Environmental are scheduled to spray the entire DuPage County side of Burr Ridge for mosquitoes on Tuesday evening.
“They will be spraying for West Nile,” Public Works Director Paul May said.
This is the first spraying for the DuPage side of the village this year.
“Hopefully this will be effective enough that we won’t have to spray again,” he said.
Burr Ridge is responsible for treatment of mosquitoes on the DuPage side of town. Cook County residents are within the DesPlaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District, which has sprayed already this season.
While no virus-carrying mosquitoes have been found within the Burr Ridge village limits, the DuPage County Health Department reports that West Nile-positive insects were found in an unincorporated area just west of the village, near 75th and Vine, on July 17, 20 and 31 and Aug. 3, 7 and 10.
