BURR RIDGE — The agenda for Monday’s Burr Ridge Elementary District 180 Board meeting includes ratification of a contract with the district’s teachers.

“That’s how close we are,” Superintendent Tom Schneider said Friday of a long-awaited deal. “We think we’re there.”

Teachers at Anne M. Jeans Elementary School and Burr Ridge Middle School have worked without a contract since September 2011. In March they filed a notice of intent to strike but have remained on the job throughout the negotiations. Those negotiations have included issues of salary and the length of the school day.

Whether a School Board vote actually takes place Monday will depend on whether the union members meet to vote between now and Monday night, Schneider said. The meeting is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Burr Ridge Middle School, 15W451 91st Street, Burr Ridge.
