BURR RIDGE — Burr Ridge police reported a string of car burglaries that occurred on the east side of the village Friday.

Five unlocked cars were burglarized while parked at homes in the 11400 block of 75th Street, the 11500 block of 73rd Place, the 11200 block of 73rd Place and the 11300 block of 74th Street. Police said change was taken from the vehicles. A satellite radio also was taken from one car.

“They’re targets of opportunity,” Deputy Chief Tim Vaclav said.

Vaclav encouraged drivers to eliminate those opportunities by always locking their car doors.
