BURR RIDGE — Robert Sodikoff is changing his title to acting village president.

“It goes back to the village’s historical roots,” said Sodikoff, who was chosen to serve as acting mayor of Burr Ridge upon the resignation last month of Gary Grasso.

Sodikoff also announced his plan to form a new committee to review the village’s ordinances, with a goal toward drafting an ethics ordinance.

“I think it’s important,” Sodikoff said.

He said the ordinance would clearly state what is and is not acceptable, particularly regarding gifts and village officials.

Sodikoff said his desire to form the committee is not the result of any concern about any trustee.

“I am for full transparency,” he said.

The Village Board will be asked to approve the committee’s formation at a future meeting.

Residents and business owners interested in serving on the committee are asked to submit their names to Village Administrator Steve Stricker, who can be reached at (630) 654-8181, or at sstricker@burr-ridge.gov.
