Burr Ridge seventh-graders take second at state

BURR RIDGE
Burr Ridge Middle School’s seventh-grade basketball team ended its season as runner-up in the state championship.
The Chieftans lost 54-41 in a hard-fought game against the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis in Wenona on Feb. 7.
The school’s eighth-grade team advanced to sectionals but lost to Rockford Marshall 43-39 in overtime on Wednesday.
“Overall it was a great season,” said coach Michael LaCassa.~.
