A Downers Grove family is searching for its missing dog that ran off a week ago and was last seen Monday morning in La Grange.
Szymon Karbowski said the dog, Mitch, was seen at 47th Street and East Avenue in La Grange, running east on the railroad tracks, limping but moving quickly.
Anybody with information is asked to call police or the Karbowskis at 630-930-3231.Karbowski said the dog, Mitch, slipped out of his collar Jan. 20 while on a walk and ran off. Her family had only had the dog a couple weeks, having adopted him from a shelter.
Mitch is a border collie mix described as black and brown with white paws, weighing about 45 pounds. Karbowski said he is shy and timid but not aggressive.
They chased him after he ran off down to Clarendon Hills Road in Willowbrook, where he was hit by a car and continued running. The dog was seen Jan. 21 in Harvester Park in BUrr Ridge, which is between Madison Street and County Line Road, and then again Monday morning in La Grange.
“We have been looking everywhere for the past couple days and were unable to find him,” Karbowski said.
