Boys basketball: St. Joe’s Glynn Watson stepped up play with teammate injured

When St. Joseph defeated CCL North foe St. Ignatius 60-35 Friday in Westchester, nobody was happier to see Jordan Ash return to the starting lineup than his backcourt mate Glynn Watson.

Ash missed three games with a banged-up knee, but returned against the Wolfpack (10-11, 4-4) and sparked St. Joseph by scoring the Chargers’ first five points.

Watson and Ash are the top two scorers for the Chargers (18-4, 9-1), averaging more than 15 points per game each. Watson noticed a difference in how teams played defense without Ash on the court.
