It is becoming rarer at the high school level for teams to include many players who are multi-sport athletes.

That is not the case for the Hinsdale Central basketball team, however. The Red Devils boast five seniors who will be Division I athletes, but none will play basketball in college.

Ian Bunting (Michigan), Max Hartzman (Colgate) and Jacob White (Ball State) are committed to play football, while Chase Hamilton will play tennis at Valparaiso and Grant Lillard (soccer) is heading to Indiana.

The formula has worked for Hinsdale Central (18-6, 9-1), which entered the week a game behind York in the West Suburban Silver standings. Those teams were scheduled to square off Tuesday in Hinsdale.
