Two people were rescued from a multifamily home in Burr Ridge Monday morning after Tri-State firefighters were called to 185 89th Street.
The fire call came in at 7:42 a.m. and firefighters arrived to fire on the first floor of the residence, safetly escorting two people in the building to a safe zone.
Tri-State Fire Protection District Chief Jack L. Mancione one occupant refused treatment for smoke-related issues, but two firefighters were injured, one to the shoulder and one to the knee.
“Fire crews made an exceptional stop on the fire within the first 10 minutes, which contributed greatly to the welfare of the building,” Mancione said.
The fire is under investigation.
