Burr Ridge police detectives are investigating reports that as much as $150,000 was stolen from escrow accounts.
Starting Feb. 21, several real estate agents from the Re/Max County Line agency in Burr Ridge, told police earnest money, in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $105,000 for two real estate deals, is missing from the agency’s various bank accounts.
One agent reported his commission check bounced, when he tried to cash it on Feb. 21.
Re/Max County Line employees said the office, at 90 Burr Ridge Parkway, has closed.
Burr Ridge police officials said it is an ongoing investigation.
