The cast of "Nate the Great" from The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs pauses during a rehearsal for their March 8 performance at the Clarendon Hills Public Library.

Something mysterious is coming to Clarendon Hills Public Library. The Children’s Theatre of Western Springs will present its production of “Nate the Great,” 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at 7 N. Prospect.

The show is based on a series of mysteries for early readers. “Nate solves various mysteries around the neighborhood that are very kid-friendly, non-spooky,” said Children’s Theatre Director Leslie Price.

The particular mystery Nate will tackle on March 8 is finding “some things that have gone missing that are important for a pet contest that the neighborhood children and pets are participating in,” Price related. “He has to find all the clues and figure out what has gone wrong.”

Although the show isn’t interactive, Price said, “You can solve the mystery along with Nate. I think the kids in the audience enjoy that challenge. I also think it encourages the kids to read so having it at the library is ideal.”

Reservations are required.
