Pillars Ball goes to Bollywood and raises $187,000

Bollywood swept into town at the 2014 Pillars Ball on Jan. 25 at The Westin Hotel in Lombard.

The 500 guests embraced the theme and dressed in sparkling Indian attire while enjoying the sounds of The Wes John Band.

The setting embodied the fantasy of Bollywood, with brightly colored cabanas, colorfully-lit archways, and a henna artist applying Mehndi designs.

The event highlighted Pillars’ addictions programs, noting the ability of clients to successfully re-engage with family and community after treatment and recovery. Mark Suppelsa of WGN-Channel 9 News was the Honorary Ball Chairman, and received The Phoenix Award for his efforts in reducing the stigma associated with addiction.

In addition, two former clients shared a video that chronicled their journey from crisis to recovery.

The event raised over $187,000 to support Pillars’ mission and work.

Pillars is already working on its month-long June extravaganza, Party for Pillars. For more information, visit www.pillarscommunity.org.
