Get your green on and head over to the 2nd Annual “Shamrockin’ for a Cure” at Countryside Banquets, 6200 Joliet Road, Countryside, on March 7 from 7-11 p.m.
Local residents Matt and Kellene O’Connell organized the event to raise awareness and momentum for the scientific developments happening in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Their son Brady, now five years old, was born with CF and underwent surgery roughly 24 hours after birth and then spent 33 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The night promises to be lively and Irish-themed with a live band, the 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Queen and her court, Trinity Irish Dancers and professional bag pipers. drinks, dinner and more. There will also be dinner, drinks, the Pot of Gold raffle and a premium silent auction.
Festive attire is encouraged.
Team O’Connell has raised over $400,000 to date in donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research and clinical trials. The goal for the 2nd Annual Shamrockin’ for a Cure is to raise $100,000.
