THE SKINNY

Fenwick proved to be too much to handle for Evanston as the Friars cruised to a 4-1 victory in the opening round of the Blackhawk Cup playoffs Friday night at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville.

TURNING POINT

The game was close as could be early on and the first period ended scoreless. Fenwick (22-26-3) got its first goal from Ben Kohen with 14:24 to play in the second. Jimmy Blair made it 2-0 with 2:51 remaining in the period. The Friars added short-handed goals by Blair and Mike Doherty midway through the third to seal the win.
