Senior Dan Dwyer scored 19 points Tuesday to lead Fenwick to a 64-47 victory over Austin in a Class 3A Farragut Regional semifinal.
Austin scored only four points in the first quarter as Fenwick imposed its will from the opening tip.
The Friars outscored Austin 22-9 in the second quarter and led 33-13 at halftime.
Austin opened the third quarter with an 11-2 run and trailed 47-31 heading the fourth quarter.
Dwyer took control of the final period by scoring 10 points and blocking two shots.
“We have to play better on defense,” Dwyer said. “Coach [Rick Malnati] told us to send four guys to the glass and rebound instead of just two.”
The Friars out rebounded Austin 21-13 while committing 12 turnovers.
