Hinsdale Central 63 – Hinsdale South 47

In the battle between two of the top big men in the west suburbs on Tuesday, Hinsdale Central 6-foot-7 junior Matt Rafferty won the head-to-head competition with Hinsdale South’s 6-9 sophomore Barret Benson.

Hinsdale Central also won the game, allowing only seven points in the fourth quarter to beat South 63-47 in the Class 4A Naperville Central Regional semifinal Tuesday night.

Rafferty scored a game-high 23 points and gathered 14 rebounds while Benson scored nine points and had 11 rebounds. Rafferty scored 11 of Central’s 15 points in the first quarter.
