Just a month after the announcement by Superintendent Renee Schuster that she is resigning, effective, June 30, another administrator in Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181 has said he is leaving.

Kevin Russell is leaving June 30 to become superintendent of Chicago Ridge Elementary District 127.5, effective July 1. District 127.5 has a junior high and two elementary schools. The School Board there approved Russell’s hiring March 3.

Russell came to District 181 in 2007 as assistant principal at Clarendon Hills Middle School and became principal at Walker School the following year. He was appointed director of curriculum, assessment and instruction for the 2012-13 school year and has worked as assistant superintendent of learning for 2013-14.

Schuster commended Russell for his service to the district.

“Dr. Russell will be missed in District 181,” she said. “He has excelled in every position he has held. Under his leadership, student achievement soared at Walker School, the Learning for All Plan was developed, the language arts curriculum was updated, significant progress on math curriculum has been made, and a partnership has been established with Fermilab to begin the revision of science curriculum.”
