It’s magical when a mother has some one-on-one time with her son. The Clarendon Hills Park District is making that happen with Mommy/Son Date Night: Magic Memories, 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the Clarendon Hills Community Center, 315 Chicago Ave.

Magician Paul Lee will perform. “He’ll show the kids how to do their own tricks as well as put on a small show for them,” said Recreation Supervisor Laura Reinke.

Lee promised that the audience “will see animals disappear and change into different animals. A bird will pass through a solid piece of plexiglass. I will have plenty of audience participation.”

Moms and sons will also do a craft project and make their own ice cream sundaes.

“It’s the first time we’ll have a mom and son event,” Reinke said. “They’ll have a cute date night together.”

Admission is $35 per couple for residents, $45 for nonresidents; $7 and $9 per additional son. Register by March 7.
