Should have taken running shoes
LINCOLNWOOD, March 1 — A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested at the Kohl’s in Lincolnwood Town Center at 2:30 p.m. March 1 after he allegedly tried to run off with a pair of $45 Nike sandals. Armand C. Jones, 19, of 25 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, was charged with theft. He was later released on bond.
Indian Head Park, March 1 — About 20 people jumped off the second-floor balcony and ran away from an Indian Head Park town house on March 1 after police rang the doorbell to investigate an alleged underage drinking party. Police also found several girls hiding in an upstairs closet. Anyone who was unable or unwilling to call their parents were charged with underage consumption of alcohol, police said. Almost everyone was released to a parent’s custody at the home, located on the 11000 block of West 72nd Street. Four girls were taken to the police station to wait for their parents. The police also removed a full keg of beer to keep as evidence. The 17-year-old resident who was hosting the party was released to the custody of her 22-year-old brother. She said her father and only other relative were out of the country. She was instructed to bring her father to the police station when he returns. The police also reported the incident to the La Grange Police Department and the school resource officer at Lyons Township High School.
LINCOLNWOOD, March 1 — Four wheels with tires were stolen from a vehicle between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and 5:30 a.m. March 1 while it was parked in the driveway of a home on the 6500 block of Lawndale Ave. Police said the offender(s) left the vehicle sitting on landscaping bricks. The estimated value of the wheels is $4,100.
Bank account goes dormant
WILMETTE, Feb. 27 — Police arrested a 57-year-old man and charged him with criminal trespassing Feb. 27 after he was found sleeping in a Wilmette bank’s lobby. According to a police report, Joseph O. Barron had been warned earlier in the week to not loiter there. Police noted that he was the second of two people who they had found trying to stay in the vestibule at the North Shore Community Bank ATM lobby, 351 Linden Ave. He was processed and released on bond, after being given a March 27 court date.

MORTON GROVE, Feb. 19 — About $500 worth of scrap metal was reported stolen from the site of the former Dominick’s store on the 6900 block of Dempster Street in Morton Grove.
A little cold to be swimming or riding a motorcycle?
HINSDALE, Feb. 18 — The owner of a motorcycle, valued at $3,500, reported it was stolen from the parking lot of the Hinsdale Community Swimming Pool, at 500 W. Hinsdale Ave. The bike was left in the parking lot between 9:30 a.m. Feb. 8 and 2 p.m. Feb. 18. The man said he parked the motorcycle there due to icy road conditions.

NILES, Jan. 23 — A 26-year-old Niles woman told police that on the night of Jan. 23 she saw a man expose himself to her while he masturbated inside his vehicle, which was parked in a lot on the 9700 block of Dee Road. The woman did not call police until she saw the man again, this time inside his car at Golf Mill Shopping Center, police said.
