Senior forward Tom Planek believes Fenwick is a much better team today because of what the team endured at the start of the season.

The Friars played more than half the season without Northwestern recruit Scott Lindsey, who broke his foot during a college visit in the summer.

“We knew we had enough pieces in place to win and be a good basketball team without him,” Planek said. “We took advantage of the players we had and were able to get the job done. We’re glad Scott is back, though.”

Fenwick (21-8) compiled a 12-4 record without the 6-foot-5 Lindsey and improved to 9-4 with its star back in the lineup after beating Farragut 69-56 in the Class 3A Farragut Regional final Friday. Lindsey scored 12 points in the win.
