Fenwick took advantage of cold-shooting St. Joseph Wednesday night to set up a rematch against Orr in Friday’s Class 3A Westinghouse Sectional final.

Northwestern-bound Scott Lindsey and 6-foot-8 Dan Dwyer (eight rebounds) scored 18 points each to lead third-seeded Fenwick to a 73-54 victory over St. Joseph in a Westinghouse Sectional semifinal. The Friars (22-8) scored nine consecutive points in the third quarter to take a 44-28 lead. St. Joseph (25-8), a No. 2 seed, shot 2-of-12 in the first quarter and never recovered. Fenwick led 17-7 early in the second quarter and 29-20 at halftime.

“We played our game,” Fenwick first-year coach Rick Malnati said. “We are playing pretty good right now.”

The Friars beat St. Joseph for the second time in row in three meetings after winning 60-54 on Feb. 22 in the third-place game of the Catholic League tournament.
