The Lyons Township High School Boosters Club is promoting dining out for a good cause in La Grange, coupled with special offers.

Athletic teams and clubs will sell restaurant cards for $10 featuring four special offers at any of 18 area restaurants. Participants include Q BBQ, Palmer Place and Kama Indian Bistro. Offers will be honored through March 14, 2015.

Boosters Club President Lou Kafkes said $5 from each card sold benefits the team or organization making the sale. The other half of the proceeds goes to the Boosters’ fund for scholarships and grants throughout the school year.

Examples of programs funded by the Boosters include the baseball and softball field dugouts and a concession stand and upgraded sound system at Bennett Field at the south campus in Western Springs.

Booster funds also have helped buy production equipment for LTTV, the school’s cable television operation and more than $350,000 in scholarships to 254 seniors.

Cards may be purchased directly from team or club members, the athletics office at the north campus in La Grange or the activities office at the south campus. Buyers also may email loukafkes@yahoo.com.

Kafkes also said the organization is seeking volunteers. The group meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month during the school year in Room D-103 at the south campus, 4900 S. Willow Springs Road.

Information about other fundraisers and the group’s efforts to support various extra-curricular activities is online at www.ltboosters.com.
