The end of one season begins another for Hinsdale Central senior Jacob White.

A member of a dying breed, the Hinsdale resident is a three-sport athlete who has already competed for 11 different teams in his four years at Central.

He ended his basketball career March 11 with a 61-50 loss to top-seeded Benet in the Class 4A East Aurora Sectional semifinal. White’s only basket — a layup with 22 seconds remaining — capped the scoring. He also was credited with a rebound, an assist and a steal.

As a reserve guard with the Devils (23-7), he was a member of back-to-back West Suburban Silver champions.
