Boys basketball: Lyons senior finishes career, 2 years after transferring in

ADDISON — When Omarr Gilbert decided to transfer from Walther Lutheran to Lyons, basketball helped him adjust.

The Brookfield resident knew very few kids at Lyons before he decided to switch schools.

Two years later, the Lyons senior guard was a key reserve for the boys basketball team this season and will graduate in the spring with plenty of Lions’ teammates to call friends. 

Just about by any account, Gilbert’s two-year career at Lyons was a success. The 5-foot-10 guard has been receiving interest to play in college from Division III teams such as North Central College, which sent out coaches to scout Gilbert’s recent games.
