Lyons Township Model UN takes first on conference

Lyons Township High School’s Model United Nations took first place at the Model United Nations at the University of Illinois. More than 400 students representing 20 schools participated in the weekend-long event.

This year’s conference was designed to foster a forum in which delegates discussed the most pertaining issues of today and immersed themselves in the world of conflict resolution and diplomacy. The 19th session of Model United Nations at the University of Illinois was host to 13 different committees. The United Nations General Assembly included committees such as Economic and Financial, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs, Special Political and Decolonization Committee, Prohibition: The Age of Bosses, Polish Government in Exile, Security Council 1956 and International Criminal Court.
