Rich Tarka, Hinsdale Central’s football coach for the past three seasons, will not return for the upcoming fall season, according to athletic director Dan Jones Monday.

Tarka’s coaching position was posted Monday on the Hinsdale District 86 website. Jones would not comment on the reason for Tarka’s dismissal.

“We started posting today. Now that it’s online we are starting the application process,” Jones said. “We hope to conduct football [interviews] during the second week of April.”

Tarka went 18-12 and qualified for the Class 8A playoffs in each of his three seasons. The Devils went 5-5 in 2013 and lost at Oswego 42-14 in the first round of the playoffs. Injuries this season took a toll for Hinsdale Central, which used three quarterbacks after senior starter Chase Hamilton injured his leg early in the season.
