Man gets DUI outside rehab facility

LIBERTYVILLE, March 8 — Jacob G. Randall, 19, of 577 Magnolia Ave., Gurnee, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Randall allegedly hit two parked, unoccupied cars outside Serenity House, 1103 W. Park Ave. His court date was not available.

Look, no hands!

LIBERTYVILLE, March 8 — Back at the police station after an arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, a Buffalo Grove man picked up a booking room camera with his mouth and dropped it into a garbage can, according to a police report.

Mark R. Santini, 49, of 1914 Sheridan Road, Buffalo Grove, was charged March 7 with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, obstructing a peace officer, attempted theft, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Santini was involved in an accident at Milwaukee Avenue near Lake Street, a crash that sent the other driver to an area hospital.

Santini allegedly failed a field sobriety test and refused to cooperate with police. A search of his car revealed marijuana and paraphernalia, police said. He is scheduled in court April 18.

Love bugged

HINSDALE, March 22 — Two men in their 40s told police that another guest at a wedding reception punched them in the face at 11:50 p.m. March 22 at Katherine Legge Memorial Park, at 5509 S. County Line Road. No medical attention was requested for either victim.

Asleep at the wheel

HIGHLAND PARK, March 22 — Richard Doe Jr., 23, of the 4200 block of Tigerlilly Lane, Gurnee, was charged March 22 with driving under the influence after police located him stopped at a green light at Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road. Police said Doe was asleep at the wheel. He is due in court May 2.

Get off my lawn!

NORTHBROOK, March 22 — Eyal Alima, 47, of 1307 Southwind Drive, Northbrook, drove to the Northbrook Police Department, 1401 Landwehr Road, to file a police report around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. After his car allegedly became stuck in the department’s front lawn, investigating officers tested him, and charged him with drunken driving. He was released after posting $1,000 bond, pending an April 4 court date.

Top ripped off, goods grabbed

ELMWOOD PARK, March 19 — A convertible’s seats were stolen during a burglary in Elmwood Park that was reported March 19. According to police, during a burglary to a garage on 2700 block of 76th Avenue, someone cut open the convertible top of a car and took out the vehicle’s seats.
