Family Friendly: Easter Bunny hops into Clarendon Hills

Carol J. Haughey is expecting a big crowd for the 31st Annual Easter Bunny Breakfast sponsored by the Clarendon Hills Woman’s Club, 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 315 Chicago Ave.

“We’re going to order 42 dozen Dunkin’ Donuts,” the event chairman reported. Last year, 360 people dined on doughnuts with milk, juice or coffee. Haughey hopes for a larger crowd this year.

Breakfast is served continually so people can come anytime but its best to be there by 9:30 a.m. for the Magic and Illusions of Paul Lee and Co. There will also be a drawing for prizes—40 little stuffed bunnies.

Kids can get their face painted by artist Margaret Royston, receive a souvenir balloon animal and pose for photos with the Easter Bunny.

Haughey said the club presents this break-even event each year because it’s “a gift we want to give to the community.”

Admission is $5 at the door.
