Nazareth Roadrunner Dash brought out 250 participants

The sun was shining the morning of March 30, when Nazareth Academy’s Alumni Association welcomed more than 250 runners, walkers, strollers and volunteers to its second annual Roadrunner Dash 5K Run/Walk.

The race began and ended at Nazareth Academy’s campus, with the 5K route winding its way through LaGrange Park. Many alumni brought their children to run along with them.

“After the success of our inaugural race, we found that this is a great way to bring together Nazareth and its surrounding communities,” Alumni Relations Coordinator Katherine Fernholz said. “We are pleased to offer a fun and engaging opportunity for participants of all ages.”

All proceeds from the race benefit Nazareth Academy.

Awards for a variety of age brackets were presented by Nazareth President Dennis Moran and Principal Deborah Tracy. The following participants earned medals:

• Age category of 19 over: David Pawlowski of Western Springs, Class of 1994 (male) and Noriko Valenta of Burr Ridge (female)

• Age category of 15-18: Matt Kinney of Lombard (male) and Annie Mugg of Bolingbrook (female)

• Age category of 11-14: Connor Uphues of Berwyn (male) and Margo McFadden of LaGrange Park (female).
