Man’s wife suspected of slashing tires

DEERFIELD, March 22 — A Deerfield man emerged from the Hyatt Deerfield, 1750 Lake Cook Road, to find three of his 1999 Volkswagen Passat’s Michelin tires slashed, according to police reports. The man checked into a room about 9:45 p.m. the night before and, while he made use of the room, a pair of women came to the front desk and asked if he had checked in, the report states. One woman matched the description of his wife, while the other matched the description of a friend of hers, according to the report. The husband and wife were already in the divorce process and the husband opted not to file charges against her, the report states.

Wigs, key taken in burglary

OAK PARK, March 24 — Two black wigs and a spare key were stolen during a burglary to an apartment in the 300 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 10:45 a.m. and 5 p.m., police said. Entry was gained by using a pry tool to overpower the front door, according to police. The stolen items were worth $80, police said.

This vacuum sucks

ELMWOOD PARK, March 29 —A woman threw her landlord’s vacuum from the second floor of an apartment on 2200 block of 75th Avenue. The vacuum landed in the yard and broke.

Locked up

LA GRANGE, March 29 — A La Grange woman working for a security company requested police assistance in removing handcuffs because her key wasn’t working. The woman told police she was placing handcuffs on another woman who requested a demonstration, and then the key didn’t work. The woman was advised to get new handcuffs.

LA GRANGE, March 31 — A Wall Street Journal newspaper was reported stolen at 1:42 p.m. from a home on the 700 block of South 7th Avenue. The paper had been delivered but was taken before the resident could pick it up.

Should have walked

BURR RIDGE, March 26 — A 1999 Toyota was reported stolen at 9:19 a.m. on the 15W600 block of 79th Street. The driver of the vehicle reported driving the car to the end of the driveway, getting out to get the mail, and finding the car gone when turning back around.

Depreciation by masturbation

OAKBROOK TERRACE, March 24 — Dayvon M. Hicks, 20, of 17W708 Kirkland Lane, No. 708, Villa Park, was charged with public indecency at 2 p.m. after being found masturbating in his car in a parking lot on the 17W600 block of Roosevelt Road.

Smelly bandits

OAKBROOK, March 26 — Thirty bottles of cologne priced at $1,920 were reported stolen by unknown persons at 8:21 p.m. from Abercrombie & Fitch, 164 Oakbrook Center.
