Fenwick’s Jenna Cairo likes batting against Oak Park-River Forest. Nearly one year to the day after homering in a 5-4 win over OPRF, Cairo homered again Tuesday against the Huskies in the annual battle between neighboring schools.

Cairo’s two-run shot in the bottom of the third inning powered Fenwick to a 4-1 non-conference win at the Priory. Fenwick junior Valerie Perrinelli earned the win, allowing five hits while walking one and striking out five. OPRF’s run in the first inning was unearned.

Cairo’s fourth home run of the season followed a single by designated player Genesis Fuentes and gave the Friars (6-3) a 2-1 lead. “This was an amazing feeling,” Cairo said. “After my home run, we started hitting again … we had another inning [the fourth] with two more runs.”
