The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.
A resident reported April 7 someone fraudulently applied for and received several store credit cards under her name and used them to make purchases on March 25.
A resident received a letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue on April 8 notifying him someone had tried to file a tax return under his name and collect a possible tax refund.
A resident of the 100 block of Post Road reported someone in a Mercedes Benz yelled obscenities at him and broke four reflectors along his driveway at 10:10 p.m. April 12. Three mailboxes on the same block also were damaged that night.
A woman reported someone damaged the rear hatch door of her 2010 Lexus while it was parked in a driveway on the 7900 block of Wolf Road between 11 a.m. and noon April 11.
A resident of the 7700 block of Hamilton Avenue reported at 7:55 p.m. April 10 someone had broken a passenger-side window on her 2007 Chevrolet.
A student at Hinsdale South High School, at 7401 S. Clarendon Hills Road, reported someone on April 8 took money out of her purse when she left it unattended.
Thieves stole 32 tires from numerous trucks and semi-trailers parked at the House of Trucks on the 7900 block of the Joliet Road. Theft was discovered at 9:35 a.m. April 7. Replacing the tires will cost $29,000.
Someone stole an iPod electronic device, a toolbox, and containers of transmission fluid, motor oil and windshield washer fluid from an unlocked vehicle on the first block of Ascot Lane the afternoon of April 12. The stolen items cost about $330.
