Crime briefs: Men attempt to open fraudulent accounts at Burr Ridge bank

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.

Burr Ridge


  • The manager of the MB Bank north branch, at 7000 County Line Road, reported April 17 that two men tried to open fraudulent check/savings accounts with phony checks. The attempt was made at both Burr Ridge branches on April 8.


  • Someone drove a car through the grass behind the Pleasantdale School, at 7450 Wolf Road, knocking over a tether ball pole, sometime between April 11 and April 14.


  • A man reported someone stole the catalytic converter off his 2003 Buick while it was parked in the Pace bus parking lot, at 100 Burr Ridge Parkway, between 7:55 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 16. He noticed how loud his exhaust system was when he drove out of the lot.



  • Someone stole a 2005 Lincoln Town Car from the parking lot of a business on the 7500 block of state Route 83. The theft was reported at 9:50 a.m. April 19.
