A 17-year-old Lyons Township High School student was injured April 21 after falling from a climbing wall during a physical education class at the north campus in La Grange.

The student suffered a wrist injury in the fall, but has returned to class, said Jennifer Bialobok, community relations director at LT.

The student was wearing a helmet and a harness and was assisted by two belayers, persons operating a rope safety system for the climber. Paramedics and the school nurse were called immediately, Bialobok said.

The student was transported for treatment to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at 11:17 a.m. April 21 after falling 12 to 15 feet from the climbing wall, police said.
