Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago preview party raises $250,000+

The Women’s Board of The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago held a preview party for The Chicago International Art, Antique & Jewelry Show on April 24 at Chicago’s Navy Pier that was a benefit and also honored the 60th Anniversary of RIC.

This is the 17th year that the Women’s Board has sponsored a preview antique show party and 2014 was particularly meaningful since the renowned Palm Beach Show Group is the new Antiques Show presenter. A classical string trio played during the evening. The party’s proceeds help to support the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s specialty programs and cutting-edge research initiatives.

The event featured prominent exhibitors showcasing their collections of fine art, antique and estate jewelry, Asian antiquities, sculpture, textiles, American and European Silver, furniture, contemporary art and more.

Some of the dealers showing included Douglas Rosin Decorative Arts and Harlan Berk of Chicago; from New York were Gavin Spanierman and Imperial Fine Books, from London were Wimpole Antiques and Gladwell & Company.

Adding excitement to the evening was the presentation of a check from the Palm Beach Group by its President and CEO Scott Diament to Dr. Joanne Smith, president of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, in the amount of $10,000.

More than 700 guests attended and over $250,000 was raised.
