Women’s Board Spring Gala raises $1.1 million for Joffrey Ballet

Members of the Joffrey Ballet pirouetted onto the stage of Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University on April 25 to celebrate the international language of dance for the company’s 12th annual Spring Gala.

Themed “We all speak dance,” the special, one-hour performance featured dancers from the Joffrey as well as its Academy of Dance and community engagement programs.

From there, 735 black-tie and sequined guests trollied down to Chicago Hilton where the Women’s Board hosted a posh soiree to benefit the Joffrey’s programs and performances.

Each year, this premier Chicago ballet company positively impacts the lives of thousands of children, teens and young adults, including more than 5,000 Chicago public school children, through its community engagement and Academy of Dance programs.

The event raised $1.1 million.
