Hinsdale Central def. Leyden 25-21, 25-18

THE SKINNY

Coming off a disappointing three-game loss to Glenbard West on Tuesday, Hinsdale Central was anxious to play well Wednesday in a nonconference contest at Leyden. Mission accomplished for the Red Devils, who picked up a 25-21, 25-18 WSC crossover victory.

TURNING POINT

Both games were close in the early going. Game 1 was tied at 5-5 and Game 2 saw Leyden (7-13) hold a 13-12 advantage, but in both games Hinsdale Central (12-5) was able to take control and cruise to the wins.

THE STAR

Everyone played well for the Red Devils, but Grant Kelly had the biggest statistical night with seven kills and five blocks.
