THE SKINNY

Nazareth’s Allison Kurek shined in the wet and cold, scoring five goals and recording four assists on Thursday to help lead Nazareth to a 13-9 victory over the Sandburg/Andrew/Stagg Eagles Co-Op.

TURNING POINT

Nazareth (7-1) led 4-1 but the Eagles (1-8) scored a pair of goals to pull within one with 5 minutes, 44 seconds to play in the first half. With a sense of urgency, the Roadrunners poured it on, scoring five straight goals — four of them coming in the first half — to take control of the game.

THE STAR

Kurek, a 5-foot-3 senior, may be small in stature but she towered over her competitors as far as ability. She was able to score effectively with both hands and found her teammates when they were open.
