Jewelry stolen in burglary on Huntington Court

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.

BURR RIDGE

BURGLARY

A resident of Huntington Court returned home May 8 and found her front door had been forced open and her house burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The burglar searched all the bedrooms and took jewelry, the value of which has not yet been reported.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

An employee at the Burr Ridge Village Center reported his Honda was damaged while it was parked on the third floor of the south parking garage in the shopping area between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. May 10. The top of the windshield was cracked and there were three puncture marks in it.

THEFT

A woman forgot her white gold diamond necklace, valued at $1,500, in a yoga room at Lifetime Fitness, at 601 Burr Ridge Parkway, at 11 a.m. April 9. An employee said she saw the necklaces in a cabinet on April 12, but when the woman went to retrieve it, the necklace was gone. The woman reported the theft April 25.

A resident reported $140 was stolen from a purse while it was in a car in a residential garage attached to a home on the 5900 block of Garfield The theft was reported at 1 p.m. May 10. An empty beer bottle was left next to the car.

A resident of the 6500 block of Elm Street reported someone stole her purse from her Porsche between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. May 10. About 9:30 the next morning, a neighbor found some of the contents of the purse across the street, but not the purse itself or the woman’s credit cards which were inside.

DARIEN

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Several tires were slashed on a vehicle parked in the driveway on the 1100 block of Foxtail on May 10.

THEFT

A student had money taken from an unsecured backpack that was located in the girls gym locker room at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road on May 8.

A student had money and prescription glasses taken from an unsecured backpack in the girls gym locker room at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road on May 8.

An unattended bicycle was taken from Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road on May 7.

An unattended cellphone was taken from Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road on May 1.

A student at Hinsdale South HIgh School had money taken from his backpack in the locker room on May 5.
