THE SKINNY

Fenwick’s Jessica Mrozek was fantastic on the mound Wednesday, baffling Nazareth batters with a change-up that frustrated them all game. The result was a win in the ESCC by Friars over the Roadrunners, 2-0 at Dominican Priory.

TURNING POINT

With two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Fenwick’s Valerie Perrelli slammed a double to right and Mrozek followed with an RBI single. It would be the only run Fenwick (12-15, 5-11) would need against the Roadrunners (15-15).

THE STAR

Mrozek scattered five hits and struck out six batters for the shutout in her first game on the mound in three weeks. The senior was returning from a minor back injury.
