Family Friendly: High flying cast in Stage Door’s ‘Peter Pan’ in Hinsdale

Over 200 kids will perform in Stage Door Fine Arts’ high-flying production of “Peter Pan,” Friday, May 30-Sunday, June 8 at the Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., Hinsdale.

The actors, in second through eighth grade, are divided into three casts for the eight performances.

And yes, both Peter Pan and the Darling children will be soaring in this show. “We have an amazing professional flying company called VFX,” said director Don Smith. “They are working with the actors and the fly operators. They fly all the productions of ‘Wicked’ all over the world and also Cathy Rigby’s ‘Peter Pan,’ which is still on tour.”

“We always want to give the kids that do our productions and the audiences a really professional experience,” Smith explained,” and I think we’ve always accomplished that.”

Performances are 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays; and 2:30 p.m. Sundays; plus 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1. Tickets are $15.
