1. Friday Cruise Night, 5 p.m. Friday
A display of cars, military vehicles and motorcycles. Coulter Post 1941, 900 S. La Grange Road, La Grange. Call 708-354-3300.

2. Father-Daughter Fishing Event, 6 p.m. Friday
Dads and daughters can spend the afternoon together, fishing, eating and playing. For girls ages 4 to 10. Attendees can bring fishing rods and bait or use the ones supplied. Willow Pond, Plainfield Road and Adams Street, Willowbrook. $20-$30 per couple.

3. 68th Annual La Grange Pet Parade, 9:30 a.m. Saturday
This colorful, crowd-pleasing event is sponsored by Pets and Pals Charities Ltd. and is truly one of a kind. From children showcasing their pets to marching bands, floats and clowns, the Pet Parade provides wholesome fun and entertainment for the entire family. Parade route: Cossitt Avenue and La Grange Road, north on La Grange Road to Burlington, west on Burlington to Brainard.

4. Graue Mill Annual Fine Arts Festival, 10 a.m. Saturday
Local artists will exhibit a variety of art on the grounds of historic Graue Mill at this two-day festival. Graue Mill, 3800 York Road, Oak Brook. Call 630-655-2090.

5. La Grange Carnival, noon Saturday
The annual event celebrates summer with carnival rides, games, food, a beer garden and live entertainment. Downtown La Grange, La Grange Road and Burlington Ave., La Grange.

6. Dream Interpretation, 2 p.m. Saturday
Every night, everyone dreams. We can learn to interpret and decode these messages so that their insight and inspiration can aid us to be healthier, happier and more understanding. This program offers an overview of dreams, what they are, where they come from, how to understand the language of symbols, and will include some dream interpretation for participants. 7. Run The Ridge 5K and 1K Run/Walk, 8 a.m. Saturday
Run or walk to raise money to fight childhood obesity. Race emceed by NBC Sports anchor Mike Adamle. The event is organized by Right-Fit Sport Fitness Wellness and designed for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. All net proceeds will benefit ProActive Kids, an organization assisting with childhood obesity. County Line Square, 306 Burr Ridge Parkway, Burr Ridge. Call 630-850-4050.

8. Hinsdale Humane Society’s 25th Annual Pet Walk, 9 a.m. Sunday
This walk-a-thon event is the shelter’s largest fundraiser. It’s a day designed for people and pets to help homeless animals and celebrate the joys of pet ownership. Dogs are welcome at the event and are also free. This year’s emcee is Judy Hsu, morning anchor of ABC 7 Chicago. Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge, 5901 S. County Line Road, Hinsdale.
