The Willowbrook Police Department is scheduled for an onsite assessment as part of a program to achieve reaccreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas; policy and procedure; administration; operations; and support services. The assessment will begin June 8 and continue through June 11.
As a part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information hearing at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 9 in the board room at Village Hall, 7760 Quincy St., Willowbrook.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling 630-514-3856 June 9, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Comments will be taken by the assessment team.
Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information hearing are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with commission standards. A copy of the standards manual is available at the Willowbrook Police Department. Contact Deputy Chief Mark Altobella at 630-325-2808.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainsville, VA 20155.Tags: Willowbrook Police Department
