This edition of Library Look brings us Sara Finnegan, Friends of the Bookshop volunteer at the LaGrange Park Public Library.
Q. How long have you been with the library?
A. I have been volunteering at the library bookshop for four years now. I started in sixth grade, for community service hours, and have been continuing with it ever since.
Q. What is your favorite part of working at the library?
A. My favorite part of working in the library is talking with the people that come in. They’re all so interesting and love their community.
Q. What is something library patrons may not know about you?
A. That when I’m older I want to go into the field of genetics and its relation to psychology.
Q. What do you think is an underused feature of the library?
A. The most underused part of the library is the break room. Everyone works so hard at what they do, and the room is always so clean and cozy, I feel like it should be used more.
Q. What is your favorite book and why?
A. My favorite book is “The Tale of Despereaux” by Kate DiCamillo. It’s an adorable story of a mouse who falls in love with a princess intertwined with that of a rat that loves light, and it all falls together in a timeless way.
