Jim Gill brings his blend of singing, banjo-playing and general silliness to a benefit concert in Naperville on June 17.

Expect to play with your kids at Jim Gill’s Family Room Tour Benefit Concert, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 21 at Washington Jr. High School Cafetorium, 201 N. Washington St., Naperville. The event is cosponsored by Restoration Community Church and DuPage Children’s Museum.

“We’ve been doing this now for three or four years where they bring me and my band members there,” Gill said. “We get hundreds and hundreds of people. It really is like a big family room.”

The crowds come because they know they will have a great time. “It’s what happens at all of my concerts,” Gill related. “My songs are really games. Over the years, I’ve called it Music Play. There are hand-clapping songs, there are guess the rhyme songs.” Gill will perform such fan favorites as “Silly Dance Contest.”

Admission is $5 with proceeds benefitting Bridge Communities, which helps homeless families, and DuPage Children’s Museum. Seating is limited so register in advance. Bring mats or blankets.
