The LeaderShop’s annual 5K raises $40,000 on a fun-filled evening

Nearly 900 registered runners and walkers, plus hundreds of volunteers and community supporters, participated in The LeaderShop’s 12th annual 5K race on June 6.

Family members and spectators came out for a fun-filled evening of racing and to cheer on runners of all ages. The race attracts individual runners as well as teams and groups of runners.

To add to the festive atmosphere, 12 youth bands lined the course route singing and playing guitar and other instruments to motivate runners and walkers to complete the race. Spectators also cheered on the youngest runners in the Mini-Me One-Lap Race and the One-Mile Race.

This year‘s event raised over $40,000 for The LeaderShop, which works to empower youth to become community-minded individuals through diverse programs that foster confidence, knowledge and leadership.
