Accounting students honored with a scholarship as part of the Illinois CPA Society’s Accounting Scholarship Program funded by the CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois included Jose Leon of Countryside and Kim Schrepfer of La Grange. The scholarships are the 2014-2015 academic year tuition and textbook scholarship and each scholarship recipient had to meet academic standards, plan to pursue the CPA licensure and complete an application for consideration.

Michael P. Moore of La Grange was honored for attaining a high grade point average for the spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Lauren Bularzik of Western Springs, earned a doctor of physical therapy degree, doctor of physical therapy from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo.

Alexa Hyman of Hinsdale was named to the Albion College dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. Hyman is majoring in business and organizations and English – professional writing with a minor in in economics. Hyman is a graduate of Benet Academy.

Ellen Kleber of Hinsdale, a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, received a bachelor of arts degree from The College of Wooster during commencement exercises recently. Kleber, a communication sciences and disorders major with a minor in education graduated cum laude. While at Wooster, she was elected to Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society. She also was a member of the Wooster chorus and Pi Kappa social club.

Adriana Hoak of Indian Head Park, a graduate of Lyons Township High School, received a bachelor of arts degrees from The college of Wooster. Hoak was a double major in Chinese studies and history with a minor in Spanish graduated cum laude. While at Wooster, she received a College Scholar Award and was named to the dean’s list. She also received China Studies Institute Summer Honors. In addition, she was a member of the varsity swimming and diving team, Kappa Epsilon Zeta social club, the Wooster Activities Crew, Proyecto Latino (Latin students organization), The Wooster Voice student newspaper staff, The Wooster Fund, ASIA (Asia Supporters in Action), and the Hans Jenny Student Investment Club.

Anna Valcour of Burr Ridge, was recognized for outstanding achievement at Lawrence University’s annual honors and awards banquet. Valcour received the William F. Raney Prize in History, which recognizes an outstanding senior history major. She was cited for “achievement at the highest level within the department, including original research in historical sources.” Valcour is a 2009 graduate of Hinsdale South High School.

Dennis Vorreyer, of Burr Ridge, qualified for the spring 2014 dean’s list at Belmont University.

James Grimm of Burr Ridge has been named to dean’s list for spring 2014 at The Citadel. Grimm is among the academically outstanding members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets being honored for academic achievement.

Cal Johnston of Clarendon Hills has been named to dean’s list for spring 2014 at The Citadel. Johnston is among the academically outstanding members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets being honored for academic achievement.

Michael Tenerelli of Clarendon Hills graduated recently from the University of San Diego. Tenerelli earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and graduated magna cum laude.

Madeline L. Bonaguro of Clarendon Hills, whose major is biological sciences, has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2014 semester for achieving a 4.0 grade-point average.

Nathan Onchuck from Darien, a graduate of Hinsdale South High School majoring in sustainability-business adminstration, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester 2014 at Baldwin Wallace University.

Jennifer Kayser, of Hinsdale, graduated from The University of Findlay. Kayser received a bachelor of science degree in equestrian studies.

Thomas Hilzinger of Hinsdale has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at the University of Vermont. Hilzinger is a senior microbiology major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

During the University of Vermont’s 213th commencement ceremonies, students from Hinsdale earned degrees: Thomas Hilzinger, bachelor of science, microbiology, College of Agriculture & Life Science; and Peter Santulli, bachelor of science, public communication, College of Agriculture & Life Science.

Mark Finan of Hinsdale graduated from the University of San Diego. Finan earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Finan graduated magna cum laude.

Elizabeth Kennedy Nelson of Hinsdale, whose major is bioengineering, has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2014 semester.

Darien native Milica Mihajlovic, a rising junior from Beloit College, has been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to help support study abroad during the fall 2014 semester. Mihajlovic will study literature and history in Russia.
