Mark your calendar and join the newly formed outreach group, Hinsdale Humane Society Ambassadors, as they host their first event, Mutts and Margaritas, from 7-10 p.m. on Sept. 24 at CiNe Modern Taqueria, 29 East First St., Hinsdale.

The event will feature a silent auction, raffles, guest bartenders Amity Comiskey and Kristi Gilbert, a red carpet photo opportunity for guests with adoptable dogs in sombreros, mutt-inspired cocktails, appetizers and more. Tickets are $20 and will be available for sale online and in the shelter by Aug. 1.

Founded in 2014, Hinsdale Humane Society Ambassadors is comprised of 20 local women whose mission is to raise awareness about the organization and its outreach programs through community events.

“HHS is so much more than just a place to find a new family pet,” said Chairman Mistie Lucht. “There are outreach programs, obedience classes, youth educational opportunities and more.”

The goal of the ambassadors is to spread the word about Hinsdale Humane Society programs, and the heartwarming stories that come out of the shelter each day, with the community that supports it.
