State Sen. Christine Radogno, R-41st of Lemont, is teaming up with State Rep. Jim Durkin, R-82nd of Western Springs, to host a free Community Recycle Day from 9 a.m. to noon on July 19 at Burr Ridge Middle School, 15W451 91st St., Burr Ridge.
Most electronics may be recycled, including televisions, monitors, computers, VCRs, radios, tape players, fax machines and telephones. School supplies, musical instruments, books, bikes and other household materials are also being collected. Visit http://www.senatorradogno.org/ for a full list of acceptable and unacceptable items.
Also participating in the event will be several charitable organizations accepting electronics, household and personal items for reuse. Habitat for Humanity is seeking building materials, while Vintage Tech is accepting several different types of electronic and household items such as copiers, external drives, satellite dishes, bread makers, fryers, hair cutters and holiday lights. AT&T will also be sponsoring paper shredding, with a limit of two bags of paper per person.
