Brett Packee influences local golf scene with CORE Golf

MUNDELEIN — One of Brett Packee’s star students had already left Pine Meadow Golf Club when the rain starting falling.

While Todd Mitchell was on the road back to his home in Bloomington, Packee remained on the range. On his weather-proof laptop, the longtime golf instructor and Vernon Hills resident was going over images of what the two worked on Wednesday afternoon.

Packee used a high-tech computer program to point out the way he helped the 35-year-old Mitchell, one of the most decorated amateur golfers in Illinois, straighten out his swing by raising the handle of his club just a few degrees at address. Packee, 46, estimated he sees Mitchell as few as two times a year.
